An Update on Our Autumn!

Many have asked for an update on Autumn. Well, a picture is worth a thousand words! This photo is of her reading her first words from us. We struggled at length with what these precious words should be. How do you invite a thirteen year old who has recently lost her parents to move to a new nation to be your child? The Lord gave me the words to write to her when I was in church one day. Her letter begins:

"Dear Zheng Qiu Yun
The first time we saw your face in November, 2006, we knew that we loved you. When we think of all that you have endured in your life, we are sad. And yet, you are very blessed. You have been blessed with a birth mother who chose to give you life. You have been blessed with a mother and father who chose to adopt you. And now, we happily choose to invite you into our family....

Thank you for letting us choose you..."

My friend Teresa noted how tightly she seems to be holding the letter and, of course, we can see a thousand thoughts in her facial expression. Our request to adopt her is in Beijing awaiting approval. We expect that all will go smoothly now and that we'll get a letter in August or September that says, "Be here in two weeks to meet your new daughter!" We can't wait for that day!

Keep praying with us!

Dear Dannah,

I appreciate the gifts God has given to you to minister to women. My heart resonates with the things you've said on Midday Connection and on other shows. I long to find my true calling and gifts and live the life of purpose that you've found.

My husband and I are adopting a baby from Russia and will be leaving in June to meet her/him for the first time. I understand all of the emotions and excitement involved in international adoption. What a blessing it is! We will be first time parents. We've been married for 16 years with no success at having a child naturally. So many years of heart ache, but God has been so faithful through it all. I am so happy that you have chosen to take Autumn into your hearts and home. May God bless her and your family as well.

Love, Robin
