Autumn Is Arriving August 24th!
I'm not sleeping much the past few nights. I'm so excited that I cannot be still! On Tuesday, August 8th our family departs for China to bring our beloved daughter, Qiu Yun (Autumn), home.
As you may know, Autumn is 13. Our friend Troy VanLiere was on a trip with the Christian group Newsong in November when he met her. He and the guys in the group fell in love with her immediately. Here are a few quick pictures of their meeting. (Jian, from Holt International is touching her face in comfort in one. The Carswell's, founders of Newsong, pose with her in the other.)
We can't wait to have pictures of our family with her on this blog very soon! We'll be meeting and receiving her into our family on Sunday, August 12th at 4:00 p.m. (China) which will be 4:00am here (US).
We hope to update everyone on our happenings while we are there so stay posted for exciting photos and news!

I am so excited for your family. You will have the most amazing experience as you travel to China to receive Autumn into your family. We brought our family (4 bio kids) to China 2 1/2 years ago when we adopted our daughter Jamae. The joy that Jamae has brought into our family is indescribable. We will be praying for you during your journey.

How hold was Jamae when you adopted her?
Jamae had turned one the day before we got her. Such a different experience than your family will have. How exciting to know that Autumn will now be part of a loving family and that she will be introduced to Jesus Christ. We will be praying for you as you travel next week.
Dannah ~ I just happened upon your blog as I was researching Secret Keeper Girl info. I was overjoyed to hear of your adoption of Autumn! I am in the process of adopting from China as well - hoping to receive a referral in the spring! It's been the most amazing two year journey and we don't even know who our daughter is yet! Dannah- I, too, just happened upon this blog while researching Secret Keeper Girl info. I was moved to tears while reading your experience in the Civil Affairs office receiving Autumn and taking pictures of the other couple. We are waiting for the referral of our daughter from China. We are hoping to receive it sometime next fall, and cannot wait to welcome her to our family! We have two children, and this will be our first adoption experience. My children are as excited about their new sister as we are! My daughter and I are planning on attending the Secret Keeper Tour in Fort Wayne, IN. I know that she will be even more excited when I tell her that you are also a mother to a beautiful daughter from China! My prayers are with you and your family as you return home with Autumn. May God continue to pour out His blessings upon each of you!
