Suzanna Wesley's Apron

I just have to tell you about John Wesley's mother's apron! Apparently the mother of this great evangelist found herself sometimes overwhelmed by the chaos of everyday life. She couldn't find a place to pray with nine little ones running around under her feet. (Mine were known to follow me right into my bubble bath if they thought I was getting too much alone time!) Anyway, Suzanna Wesley's solution was to fling her work apron right up over her head to just ignore her little charges while she communed with her Lord.

I'm dubbing September my "Suzanna Wesley Month." My son Robby is a senior and we're in the midst of his college search. Lexi is in eight grade and up to her neck in drama classes and "needs" voice lessons. And, of course, we have our dear Autumn who is just beginning to learn English. Between the three of them, they are enrolled in four schools. And, I am finishing up a book with Nancy Leigh DeMoss this month. I think it's been about thirty days since I've had a lengthy time of solitude with my Lord.

Can you relate?

If you can, consider giving yourself permission to meditate and pray like Suzanna Wesley...in small snippets all day long. Sometimes we have seasons where this is the best way to be with our Lord. (Just don't give up being with him!)

If you need more...consider my "Five Little Questions intenstive" coming up November 8-11. Held at the St Joseph Institute, it'll be a veritable umbrella of the presence of the Lord. (No umbrella needed!) Until then, you might want to invest in an apron with a beautiful frilly fringe!

Hi Dannah!

It was so nice to meet you in person when you came to visit Donna and Troy! You did a great job speaking on Sunday as well! I have thought about you quite a bit since you left, and want you to know that my husband Jesse and I have been lifting up prayers for your ministry and for your family...And We just love your husband! He's so hilarious... Hopefully we'll get to see you again next Thanksgiving if you stick with the Tradition of coming back here to TN!
Come visit me at my website so you can listen to my music/ministry and let me know what you think. I'll be going on tour in March, and maybe I can schedule something around your area.

Well, God bless you and your family!

Love,

Jme Medina
