I had a birthday. I can't say I was looking forward to celebrating this one. I marvel at friends who embrace aging. I can't even get myself to tell you how old I now am. Well, it rhymes with "shorty." (Just look at the smoke that rose after I blew out the candles!)

My husband—along with dear friends Eileen, Jen and Janet—compiled a book of letters from friends, readers and family members around the world! If you wrote me one, please know that this is the best gift I've ever gotten. After the party, I curled up on my sofa and read every one word-for-word! I cried as I read how much I'm loved. It's so good to know that. It's easy to forget, don't you think?
Here's a photo of Bob presenting me with my beloved gift. I'm standing next to a pictoral history of my life that included every single school picture ever taken of me. (Mom!) School pictures are not kind. Aren't you glad you've outgrown them?
