How To Pray for Healing

Miracles are supposed to happen fast, right? They're supposed to be grand and have great climaxes!

Maybe not always. At least, it wasn't that way for the young prophet Elisha. In II Kings 4, the poor guy is new on the scene and one of his disciple's son dies. Elisha sends his servant to lay the prophets staff on the boy and pray.

Nothing happens.

So, Elisha goes himself and lays on the boy face-to-face as he prays.

The boys body gets a little warm, but that's it. He's still dead.

Elisha paces the floor.

What should he do?

He crawls up onto that bed, lays on the boy again and begs heaven for a miracle.

The boys sneezes a few times and sits up.

He is alive.

During my March trip to Zambia with 19 Grace Prep students and parents, we prayed for a boy named Clement. He's four and he's blind and deaf. He lives in a hut with no electricity and his family gets food day-by-day. He had no hope of medical care. His biggest hope was that he'd have enough corn meal to fill his tummy that evening.

My team prayed over him.

Nothing happened.

So this weekend, we're fasting and mobilizing a team in Zambia to go back and pray again.

I'm not sure what miracle you're looking for, but as for us...we're going to follow the lead of Elisha.

We're going to go back again and again for this little one.

We're going to risk looking like fools until God hears us.
